Normally, I would not describe myself as a rustic kind of girl, but I always feel drawn to reclaimed wood furniture, warm tones and weatherworn textures, especially this time of year. I think adding a few pieces here and there adds a calming effect to a space. I can't really explain it, but it appeals to me on an emotional level as well as a visual one. Most people would say that pieces like these add character or uniqueness to a room, and they definitely do that too. What do you think? Do you prefer sleek and modern, warm and rustic, or some combination of the two? Maybe your favorite style is Rococo and you want nothing to do with either. If that's true, you might want to have your eyes examined. ;)

  1. Hahaha, Rococo.

Rustic is one of my favorite accent styles, too. I wouldn't want my entire house decorated that way, but little touches here and there are perfect. Loving that chair.

  2. I love these all so much. They make me want to run off to a secluded cabin in the woods.

  3. Houses with rustic elements like this always seem so cozy and inviting. I like touches of them here and there.
    I love that dish!

  4. These are great rustic finds. Here on the west coast of Canada, rustic has pretty much been trendy (or the fall back "cool") my whole life. It does suggest that you honour our natural world, if you collect rustic things for your home...

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. What's Rocco?? Never heard of this but I am interior design challenged. I do like modern and sleek but lately I like some rustic vintage stuff. So perhaps in-between would be awesome.

  6. I love the combination of the two. The vintage bird house is beautiful!!

  7. That chair!!! My taste is definitely a combination of the two. I love a minimal, modern base with rustic touches. And if I win the lottery, that is how my house will be decorated. :)

  8. i really love the rustic look and these are all such cute finds you blogged about today thanks for sharing

  9. hi Mary!

i'm the same way. i'm not a "rustic" type of girl, but i love rustic looking pieces. i'm much more into inner city kind of styles, but i feel there is a way to integrate the rustic style with an urban interior style... like minimal/industrial/ rustic?

anyway, love love love the pieces you pictured here. gorgeous. hope you're well, dear.
