We have yet to buy any indoor plants for our house yet, and after walking through the greenhouse last week, I'm definitely wanting to add lots of green to our bay windows. I'd love to have a greenhouse actually, one day.
Do you have any plant recommendations for someone who doesn't exactly have a green thumb? Please share in the comments! :)
Your pictures look great! I'm trying to be a plant person but I can't seem to pay attention the plant that I have. I bought a Aloe Vera plant and they are pretty sturdy. You don't have to water that much and just need some sunlight. I would suggest plants that don't require that much light or water. That way if you forget to water the plant they won't die.
ReplyDeleteBasil, bamboo, and rosemary have lasted forever in my tiny balcony garden! I don't exactly have a green thumb, but even with my neglect, they stay strong! I also have a terrarium of succulents left over from a wedding's centerpieces and they have been sturdy this whole time!
ReplyDeleteI love that metal star! Can I have that instead of a plant? Bamboo and succulents are super easy to maintain, and this might sound weird, but IKEA actually has a pretty good fresh plant selection that's also very affordable (so in case they do die it's not the end of the world).
ReplyDeleteLove that stained glass piece, all these pictures are so lovely and inviting!
ReplyDeleteGreast photos - I really like the hanging star sculpture.

I recommend lavender. It smells great and looks gorgeous
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the Mimosa (Silk Tree) branch. That is one of my most favorite trees! I have some crotons in a sunny spot near two-story windows and they love it there.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I really love greenhouses.

Love those stars.
ReplyDeleteLuckily my boyfriend takes care of our plants...I have a tendency to forget to water them...lol :)
Maybe try geranium cuttings for a start?? Whenever Mum goes to my Aunties' houses, she comes back with little stems that she's cut from their plants, and just puts them in a little glass with some water. I don't know what else she does to it, but they end up growing roots and it's pretty cool :D Beautiful photos!! I want to find this place and go exploring :D Rhi xx

Jade. Christmas Catus. I've done pretty well with both and my indoor plant abilities are 'challenged' shall we say. I also brought my geraniums indoors as in years past and they always seem to survive. Jade for sure though AND snake plants (you can't kill 'em).
ReplyDeleteMy advice comes from having spent this last year trying to be a better plant person. I learned two things: get some of those water spikes to keep your planters evenly watered. Also, don't be affraid to pinch the plants as they start growing and becoming "leggy". It took me forever to get past the heartbreak of pinching off perfectly healthy little branches...
