Bits of May

Untitled
Tried a couple of new cupcake flavors, the one with the jelly was margarita I think...anyway, they were all delicious. Colorful windows and doors spotted walking around town and Florentine pizza.

Untitled
An old bridge I see sometimes on the train crossing over the Potomac. A pink house on a sunny day. Walking in the garden, and baby geese. I've seen them a couple times since then, and they are getting big already! (I know the correct name for a baby goose is "gosling" but I cannot call them that for obvious reasons.)

Untitled
A nice view of the Mall. Barbara Kruger's installation at the Hirshhorn. (Actually, we went there for another exhibit, which I'll probably blog about soon.) And bored waiting in metro, taking a photo of someone else bored waiting in metro. (Actually, if you are an out-of-towner, I don't really recommend playing with your phone while waiting for trains; it's a good way for it to get stolen....ditto walking down the street with your phone out, texting or whatever and not paying attention to your surroundings. That's my PSA for the day.)

Untitled
Wearing stripes and dots. (I've mentioned before it's always been my summer uniform in some way or another, and the ratio of polka-dotted and/or striped clothing I own to any other pattern is like 5 million to one.) Pretty white puff balls growing all over the trees. And Peter made best friends with this dog and took the leash to run all over the park with her, leaving me to make awkward conversation with the dog's owner, like we were on a double date and our dates had run off together. Awesome.

Untitled
The setting sun made the tree tops golden...almost looked like autumn for about 20 minutes. One of the bunnies that comes to hang out at our house. The herbs I've mentioned before making pretty shadows. And this house on the corner has really pretty flowers growing all along their picket fence.

Of course, a lot more happened in May that did not get documented, visits with friends, house projects, crafty things, and most recently, being sick. Although you're probably glad there isn't a visual record of that last one.

Hope this week is a good one! xo, Mary

  1. Pretty pictures from May. I'm sure you look just fine while being sick you just think you look worse.

Whenever I'm sick I always feel like my face is a lot more swollen than usual.

  2. Looks like may was a good month! I like the picture of the shadows and the Hirshhorn looks like a place I would love to visit (I just checked it on Google).

  3. Love all your nature shots. Isn't it nice to be able to get out and enjoy the warm weather lately (though we have rain again today!).
And I love the typography art exhibit!

  4. I really love all of the colorful houses in DC. Is that a common thing, or are those just the few that seem to be in every city?

Also, that pizza made me want pizza. :-)
