Botanical Gardens

The past month or so, I've really been craving to be among lush green things and longing for a change of season. That all sounds very dramatic, but really, as I write this another 8 inches of snow fell last night and it's still coming down. It's funny that the cherry blossom festival starts this week and everyone is like, "Look at our gorgeous cherry blossoms!" and points to bare, snow-covered branches.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, Peter and I had the brilliant idea to go to the botanical gardens where we could spend a few hours in warm dry deserts and steamy tropical jungles. It was amazing, and I can't believe we didn't think of it sooner.

  1. So pretty!! When I was at the Duke Gardens 2wks ago it was such a nice change. The weather was so lovely outside. This Saturday was so nice outside too!! Then Sunday was doom and gloom and we are still getting snow. Of course that means no school today..and possibly no school tomorrow.

  7. This looks like heaven. Do you guys still have some snow on the ground? Soon, it will be spring. (Well, actually and technically, it IS spring.) Rather, soon it will FEEL like spring. I just learned of another garden/greenhouse area in Indianapolis, so I'm going to try and visit there soon.
