Over the Hills We Go

Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia

Last Saturday, we drove a couple of hours away to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I realized right before we left that I'd forgotten to charge my camera battery, and of course it started flashing almost as soon as we arrived. But luckily, I managed to get some good shots before it quit.

It was gorgeous out, and the views down into the valley were breathtaking! I'm not really a fan of heights, but oddly enough, it didn't bother me at all to be looking down at tiny houses in the distance. I only got a bit nervous once when I climbed on top of a wall to get a better shot; the wind was whipping all around me. I made Peter hold onto me because I felt like I might get blown off the wall and go tumbling down the mountain! Actually, I'm not sure if I "made" him or he just did it automatically. Probably the latter. :)

Virginia is such a beautiful state, and there's a lot more I'd like to see. Hopefully, we can take some more weekend trips soon!

  1. Wow...that's the perfect title for these photos! This looks like Ireland, not Virginia. How beautiful!!

  2. I just made a bunch of "Oooooh!" and "Aaaaah!" noises as I scrolled through these. Just breathtaking. These remind me a little of Tennessee and Kentucky.
