I added lots of
colorful felt ornaments to the shop yesterday...lots of snowflakes, little trees, and pretty scallops.
And all that stitching inspired me to make a
new illustrated notebook with a spool of thread and needle. I often use little notebooks for jotting down project notes as I'm working: materials, colors, little bits of info I want to remember for the next time I make an ornament, garland, or brooch. Also, I frequently get ideas for new things to make (or ideas on how to tweak an old design) while I'm working and need to scribble it down quickly. I know there are lots of devices for note-taking these days, but for me, nothing beats a little notebook. I can scribble and jot much faster than I can type on my phone! And I don't ever have to worry about that dreaded black screen either. :)
I'm thinking of maybe doing more in different colors. It would make a cute gift for crafty friends too, right?
What are you guys up to this weekend? I'll most likely be working all weekend to get ready for my show in December. Most of the stuff I'll be selling is totally new, which is super exciting, but also means I have a lot of work to do in the next three weeks. I'll share some sneak peeks as we get closer!

ReplyDeleteLOVE the pile of ornaments. I appreciate that you use a lot of non-traditional Christmas colors, too. We don't really do the red-and-green thing, haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm a paper person, too. My husband uses Evernote for everything, which I do admit is convenient if you're on the go, but I'm home all day. Just give me a notebook. :-)
