One Photo Every Hour (or Thereabouts) - Sunday

I realized I haven't done one of these posts since last July and thought it was about time we spent a day together again. :)

10 am
Trying to hold the sunlight in my hand. I didn't sleep well...was up several times during the night...and staying in bed all day is very tempting. But after I take this picture, I decide to get up anyway and do something with the day.

11 am
Packing up an order. I hope this bird brooch makes someone really happy.

12 pm
Dressed and ready to go with crazy patterns on my sweater. Let's go outside.

1 pm
On the bus, I spot a blue heart on the window. We are sitting knee to knee with some British tourists, a young woman and her mother. The young woman asks me for help to make sure they're on the right bus, and I do, of course.

2 pm
We are at The Phillips Collection to see an art exhibit only to find out that all the tickets for the rest of the day are sold out. This has been happening to us a lot lately. Major bummer.

We walk around for a bit.

3 pm
I drown my sorrows in some cupcakes at Hello Cupcake.

4 pm
Back home in time to see Keyboard Cat. So funny. Also, they outdid themselves at Animal Planet this year...probably the best kitty halftime show I've ever seen on the Puppy Bowl. We watched the puppies for a little while too, of course.

5 pm
Editing photos and drinking coffee.

6-7 pm
Working in the studio...trying to finish up a couple of projects that I'll blog soon.

8 pm
Yep still in the studio. I look down at my desk and see that my worry doll is trapped under a huge pile of felt scraps, and it makes me laugh. Poor worry doll.

9 pm
Watching Downton Abbey. I love when they do wide shots and you can see more of the house. Also, no spoilers but I really hope there's some good news for someone on that show soon. Sheesh, it's been heavy so far this season, right?

That was the last picture I took. After Downton, I puttered around the studio for a little while longer before I succumbed to the fact that I really was exhausted and not feeling well and should probably just put myself to bed. So I did.

One Photo Every Hour (or Thereabouts) - Sunday

Are you guys sick of these "photo every hour" posts yet? Here's a peek at Sunday. (Most photos taken with my phone this time.)

10 am
I drag myself out of bed. (If you've been paying attention so far, you know that I am not a morning person, and especially not on weekends.) Peter has gone to get Starbucks. Bless him.

11 am
We go to an estate sale at this house. Most of what's left is either over-priced or not our style, but we do go home with a few books.

The house is kind of amazing too.

12 pm
We walk around for a while afterward and run a couple of errands. It's like 1000 degrees outside.

2 pm
We decide to cool off with some homemade ice cream on the way home.

I get lemon and Peter gets chocolate m&m's. Both are delicious.

3 pm
We're back home and I'm looking through my new books. Between the two of us, we got 6 books, but we easily could've walked out with arm-fulls. We exercised lots of restraint because our bookshelves are already overflowing. It's hard to pass up a really nice art book for $2 though!

4 pm
Peter is a professional napper.

5 pm
I work on etsy things and do other computer stuff (ahem, twitter).

6 pm
I remember that it's 'roid week on flickr, and we head over to the garden with my polaroid camera so I can snap a couple of pics to upload Monday. I only have a few shots left, and I've been hoarding them. I wish film wasn't so expensive and easier to find.

7 pm
Here are the photos I took. If I'm able to get any other decent shots I'll do a separate blog post later in the week.

8-something pm
We decide to take a walk around the neighborhood because apparently being outside for hours already today was not enough.

9 pm
We are watching "Endeavour" on Masterpiece Mystery. Anyone else a fan of this series, or "Inspector Lewis?"

Later on, I had an encounter with a huge spider who chased me into the bedroom. I mean, it literally chased me. I saw it and froze, then started backing up and the spider started coming at me. So I turned around and ran, and it chased me! After that, I was like NEVER SLEEPING AGAIN. But all that heat and walking all day caught up to me eventually, and I passed out somewhere around 1 am.

Also, Peter killed the spider. In case you were wondering.
 

One Photo Every Hour (or Thereabouts) - Saturday

Last Saturday, we had planned to go to the arboretum and do other fun things around town, but when we woke up and realized that it was going to be super hot and sticky outside, we decided to nix that idea and just stay home. I thought about not doing a "photo every hour" post since we canceled plans, but I decided to do it anyway. I'm glad I did because it turned out to be a pretty good day.

9 am
I'm drinking coffee and looking at my new pink cactus I got last week. Isn't it the cutest? It is already very sunny (read: hot as hell) outside.

10 am
We watch a bit of the Tour de France. They are in the Pyrenees, and it's gorgeous. (The only reason I ever watch any of the Tour de France is for the pretty scenery...like most people, right?)

11 am
We decide to repot our herbs on the patio. Of course, we make a huge mess, and it takes just as long to clean up as it did to do the repotting.

1 pm
Studio time. I'm working on some miniature abstract paintings. Not sure how many I'll do--maybe 8 or 9. I'll list them in my shop when this series is finished. I also make a treasury and do other Etsy stuff.

4 pm
We go to see Monsters U. It's really cute and several scenes make me laugh out loud. (Also, how sad is it that even the early show is $12? That's why we hardly ever go to see movies in the theater. How much do matinee movies cost where you live?)

7 pm
I've been craving a grilled cheese sandwich and fries for days, so we go to the diner for dinner.

8 pm
We decide to go for a walk in the garden on the way home, and we basically have the place to ourselves. The heat of the day is finally subsiding a bit, and it's really nice. The garden is beautiful, as always.

10 pm
Still playing catch-up on season 7 of Dexter. We just have one more disc left. Peter and I are speculating about how this season, as well as the whole series, will end. No spoilers if you already know! :)

10 am
Breakfast...shortcake biscuits from Trader Joe's and elderberry jelly that Dawn sent me. (Thanks, Dawn!)

11 am
We are doing stuff around the house. I say something funny and Peter laughs.

12 pm
Trying to decide what to wear.

(I end up wearing a striped orange shirt and navy polka dot skirt with striped sneakers if anyone's curious.)

1 pm
We watch a bit of the Nats game...most importantly, the President's race. This photo is misleading; Abe won by a landslide. Also, yes he is waving a Swedish flag cause why not?

2 pm
I think the book Peter's reading right now is really pretty, but he says it's boring. Too bad you really can't judge a book by it's cover.

3-something pm
We decide to get out of the house for a bit. Our train is here.

4 pm
We go to the Corcoran, which has free Saturdays. (Also, I feel like I should mention here that there's not a lot on view right now at the Corcoran that isn't permanent collection, so if you are a tourist and have limited time in DC, I would not put it at the top of your list. I hate to say that because the Corcoran has been struggling this past year, but that's a topic for a whole other post.)

Looking at pretty art till the gallery closes.

6 pm
We walk around for a bit.

7 pm
Dinner at Chipotle. We also got smoothies at another place. Mine was not great and basically tasted like smushed bananas. I've been losing the smoothie game lately.

8 pm
Doing Etsy stuff.

9 - 11 pm
I do some sketching and make a journal. I can't decide whether to list it in my shop or not because I really love this one. But I do. It's here if you'd like to see better photos.

12 am
Watch some Goonies. (A couple days ago, the guy behind the counter at Starbucks was wearing a bandana exactly like Josh Brolin in this movie. So, guess that's a thing now? I sure hope so.)

That's the last photo I took, though I was up doing stuff till 2 am, which I really regretted when I woke up at 7 am on Sunday. So that was my day; hope you enjoyed it! :)
