(Clockwise from top left: altered vintage matchbox from Lobster and Swan; "Milkweed Pod" by Amber Alexander; ceramic still life by House of Ceramics; "So Long As Nothing Changes" by Windy Lane Studio; "Seasonal Eggs" by Leah Duncan.)

This week's Instant Art Collection is full of still lifes, botanical bits and bobs, and nature...the kind of collection likely to appeal to the amateur botanist, archaeologist, or someone who simply loves to display beautiful objects. If I had more space and more funds at my disposal, I'd have a room chock-full of handmade artifacts, natural wonders and other curiosities.

Are you a collector too?

  2. Ooooh, I find this one very compelling. I'm drawn to the milkweed pod, too.

  3. Gorgeous! The ceramics still life is so subtly perfect. You should be a curator when you grow up. :)

  4. I really like the "so long as nothing changes" print. It kind of looks like pieces of bird falling apart. The only thing I collect are movie tickets.

  7. Oh my, these are so beautiful, I can't choose my favorite. Ok, perhaps the "So long as nothing changes" painting. I don't collect anything but I'd love to (everyone in my family has a collection except me). Maybe when I give up on being such a minimalist I'll collect vintage jewelry, or skirts. Ooh, or art! Loved your blog, by the way ;) xx
