Clockwise from top left: "Miss Lemon" by littleghost; "Trees" by chasingthecrayon - Tracey Long; "Walking with Masks" by Julianna Bright; and "Holy Mackerel" by twamies - Alan Brown and Kati Driscoll.

This collection is a little bit surreal, a little bit fairy tale, a little bit "I ate too much Easter candy and now I'm hallucinating"...but in a really good way, am I right? I particularly like the color combinations here of washed-out pastels and saturated reds. I love the expression on the little girl's face and the fact that she's posed like a school photo. And "holy mackerel" is just a really good phrase.

  1. Ooo, yes, slightly freaky images but good. Just a little scary! Perhaps you're right about too much chocolate ;)

  2. I'm pretty sure I have a school photo with that semi-fake smile. I am also confident I had way too many sweet things over the weekend because I had such a sugar high on Monday. I don't even celebrate Easter and still managed to eat lots of cookies, candies, cupcakes.. and bunch of other stuff.

My dad says "Holy mackerel"..like for serious, when he's amazed by something ..or if its something REALLY amazing he'll take it as far as "holy macaroni and cheese!" I'm not even kidding:) too cute

  6. Hahaha, this is perfect. I say "holy mackerel" sometimes when I can't say "holy shit" because a kid is around.
