When I was looking for photographs for this post, I began to think about what draws me to particular images over others. All of these photos have a more minimalistic subject matter and relatively unfussy compositions. I've been told I lean toward the "simple" in my own photography, so perhaps I'm biased, but I think all of these are strong images. I don't think any of them would be made "better" by adding color, or more contrast, objects, etc. I guess what I'm trying to say is that "simple" isn't always bad, and in fact, can often be exactly right.

  2. Gorgeous picks, I like how they are a bit dark and gloomy. I could spend hours watching gorgeous photo's online.

  4. I love all of them. I like things that are simple perhaps that is why I like your work. I always wonder how photographers make things look simple in their photography. It always seems complicated to me.

  5. I love all of these, especially the first one. I think I'm drawn to minimalism in a lot of areas too, including photography.

  6. Wonderful images and you've got me thinking about what it is that draws me to a particular image. To me, each of the images you've chosen have a sense of serenity about them.

  7. Before I even read your words, I was thinking, "This are beautifully minimalistic. Nice composition, all of them." They're sort of raw, and that I think that is what draws me to them. Aaron is actually in the process of buying a house, and he wants to make it very industrial-themed. That's his thing--the modern homes with flat roofs and stuff. Concrete floors, wood-paneled ceilings or walls. Sometimes the rustic and simple IS better. Not everything has to be fanciful, colorful, or fussy.
