Scenes from (a Colorful) Life

The color of the day is yellow! And the letter is F. And the number is 8. :)

I already know I have a few fans of yellow out there. I was actually surprised by how many photos I had of yellow things; I had trouble narrowing it down to 8! At first I wasn't going to include the sunflower photo because God knows I post flower pics all the time--I can't help it, flowers are just so pretty! But I decided I would include it anyway because it's just happy and sunshiny and a good way to start the weekend.

Speaking of the weekend, we will hopefully finish painting the hallway and maybe, possibly hang some curtains in between other things we have planned. The one big bummer of the weekend for me is that this weekend was my last chance to see an exhibit I'd been wanting to see for a while, and the shutdown means the museum is closed. I'm pretty sure the exhibit will be packed up and moved along before the museum reopens. That's really small potatoes compared to the rest of the craziness that's been happening in DC lately, so I'm not complaining. I just hope they get this mess sorted quickly.

So, tell me of your exciting weekend plans. I need to live vicariously through someone who will actually be leaving his or her house. ;)

  1. Great collection, I like the one with the long shadows. Are they dancers? I'm looking forward to a little 'cheese party' with two cheese aficionado friends, that will take place tomorrow.

    1. They were dancers. The two on the side were playing accordions, I think. It was some kind of folk dancing, but I don't really know anything about them. I happened to be looking out the window of a building right when they walked up and started doing a dance. I snapped a few photos and watched them for a minute. I think they might have been practicing for a festival or something. :)

  2. Amazing group of photographs, I can just see them as a collection in a gallery, or someone's house. :) Good luck painting the hallway! It's surprising how tiring it can be painting rooms in the house.
This weekend I'll be shortly grabbing a pizza from my local takeaway and having a rest as I've just donated blood and that has left me a little more tired than I expected. Sunday I'm doing a car boot sale with my mum which I'm very much looking forward to, lets hope the rain stays away!
    Take care

  3. My favorite color! It sounds like you have a nice weekend planned, although I can absolutely understand your muse frustration. :( I'm taking a mini girls trip with my mom up north this weekend and looking forward to relaxing.

  4. Yay for yellow! This weekend chez moi: we are celebrating my son Oliver, who is trning six :) He has invited a few of his buddies to the local garden shop where they will be planting a mini-garden inside a carved pumpkin...then getting a lesson in composting the whole thing once it starts to rot! Here's to teaching our future how to be less wasteful!

  6. so many bright colors. Love the yellow fire hydrant. We ended up watching movies, apple picking, and just hanging out. It was a nice weekend that ended too quickly.
