Bits of October

Untitled
Afternoon adventures and cupcakes.

Untitled
Pumpkins everywhere, inside and out.

Untitled
The teeny-tiniest Dachshund puppy ever; we got to hold her, and I was very tempted to slip her into my pocket, start whistling, and slowly walk away. We found this Wert screen print at a flea market...it's going in the kitchen, of course. The greenhouse/garden center where we bought a few plants, and a funny/disturbing car gag.

Untitled
A patchwork heart brooch I made and lots of garden walks. I'm trying to soak in as much of these blooming plants as I can before the cold weather gets them.

And if anyone's curious, we did not make it all the way till November before turning on the heat, though we did make it until about a week or so ago. When the temps dropped down into the 30s every night, I was no longer all that interested in saving money. It did warm up again toward the end of last week, though, and we turned the thermostat back down. Hopefully, we'll have some more moderate temps before winter settles in for good.

  1. Incredible pictures, I especially like the garden ones! It doesn't get too cold where I live on the MS gulf coast, so I always enjoy the slightest crisp in the air. We rarely turn the heat on, but I love to snuggle under blankets!

  2. Look. At. That. Puppy! I would've wanted to take her with me, too. One of my BFFs has a dachshund and she's just adorable.

You guys are so hardcore with your heat. We've had ours on for a few weeks. It just gets too cold at night and I'm a wuss.
